San Pedro

A strategically important shipyard for allied forces located only two jumps from the border. Many military planners have argued that it is located far to near the border with the Unity to be safe. But the Lord of Brunswick makes a large part of her personal funding from the fees collected for keeping the shipyard in her territory and made it an issue in negotiations for joining the alliance.

Cirus Two

A neutral planet that is not part of the Pax Imperium Charter. The planet is home to New Zurich a city where diplomats from competing interests come to meet.

The Crucible

The communications center in the military command bunker buried deep under the Villa, the royal palace of the House of Athena.

Pluton Nebula DMZ

A small demilitarized zone between the House of Athena and the Unity Corporation. During the three hundred years following the creation of the Pax Imperium, the Pluton DMZ was often the site of games of bluff by both sides with one or the other charging at the border area, testing the other side’s ability to respond. Toward the end of the cold war, the Unity Corporation used the Pluton Nebula as a place to test and research its cyber warfare capabilities, most famously during the cyber attack on the Athenian destroyer, Kronos.

Huygens Three

A planet known for its brilliant meteor showers. The small particles involved are known for their high copper content, giving the meteors a greenish blue hue.

Bronte

A proto-moon hidden in the rings of the gas giant Catania in the Sicily system. The moon hides a Unity shipyard used to build at least one “planet killing” ship which could be used to redirect large asteroids. (These type of ships were specifically outlawed under the Pax charter after they were used to destroy nearly thirty planets during the Great War.)

The Cairo System

A small system located near the border between the Unity Corporation and The Kingdom of New Egypt. Its ownership became a matter of dispute at the creation of the Pax Imperium and so its status was left intentionally vague. The system is administered by the Confederated States of Japan but is still claimed by the Unity Corporation.

Grandfather’s Terrace

A ceremonial garden built into the back of the the Villa—the palace of the House of Athena. The garden centers on a two hundred year old olive tree surrounded by a grove of lemon and orange trees arranged in perfect circles. The garden has been Imperial Legacy Point by the Pax Empire. When it is not in use by the royal family, the garden is the most popular tourist attraction on Athena Four. The giant second story terrace with its many levels and water features, looks out over the twenty acre royal gardens that extend behind the palace.

Samoan Camel

An four legged animal that most resembles a large predatory cat from Old Earth. However, it is large enough to be mounted and ridden by an adult human. Enormously expensive the cat is mostly ridden by the wealthy, including some of the noble classes in various states. Originally from the Enaena toafa on Samoa Two, it has evolved to long water sacs that run the length of its underbelly allowing it to travel long distances in the heat without having to drink.
