Arcadia Five
Arcadia Five is the planet in the Arcadia system that was the intended target for Athenian Gate Mission D102. Arcadia five has a breathable atmosphere and photosynthetic life.
Theta Seven
Theta Seven is a planet in the Kingdom of Athena. Roger Gillian and Helena Porter invested their money in real estate there in order to have an income when they arrived in the future after their gate building mission. Their investments did not pan out as hoped but still yielded them with enough money to make a modest start on their new lives.
Athenian Sequoias
Athenian Sequoias are the largest member of the family Movere of the kingdom Luxcomedenti, from the Minervan, ecology, according to the Interseller Code of Species Nomenclature. The whole family is a set of moving photsynthesizers that roam the open plains of the planet Athena. The variation in size between adults is enormous in about ninety percent of the population a series of protein markers restrict their growth to no more than about ten centimeters. However in about ten percent of the members of the species these protein markers break down and the sequoia continues to grow in height throughout its life. This type of sequoia can grow to well over one hundred meters, with the tallest measured standing some one hundred and thirty-four meters.
All the members of the family Movere use a series of stubby probes to retrieve nutrients and moisture from the soil below them. They often follow regular migration routes that track with the changing daylight. The Athenian sequoia grows long bannerlike triangle “leaves” that take advantage of the consistent Athenian breezes in their preferred habitats to extend the organism’s ability to gather light. Some of these banners can be over thirty meters long before they fray and break off at the ends.
As far as scientists can tell, Athenian Sequoias have very little sensory understanding of their surroundings. As such, they can pose a very real hazard to life and property as anyone who ventures into their midst is in danger of getting smashed by one of their giant roots.
That said the Athenians living near their habitat make a local dish called krettle from the Sequoia “sap.” The dish is high in proteins, has the consistency of porridge, and tastes like honey. It is considered a delicacy among those from the planet.
